Josephine Porter, MPH, serves as a project director for the NH Institute for Health Policy and Practice. Jo joined the Institute in December 2007. She is primarily responsible for overall management of the CDC Assessment Initiative grant, a joint project with the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). In addition to overseeing the general progress of the project, Jo is specifically working on the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and performance measures focal areas of the project.
Jo brings several years of health care-related project management and program development experience to the Institute. She was most recently the manager of clinical programs at Health Dialog, Inc., a care management firm with offices in Manchester, NH. She also previously served as the Associate Director of the New Hampshire Health Information Center at UNH, and was the NH BRFSS state coordinator for the NH DHHS.
Her research interests are in health data collection and dissemination, as well as health care quality.
